Description
First and foremost, I apologize for the horrible quality of these pictures- my camera didn't like her colors at all, and I have no idea why.
That aside, here's the mascot of Sydneigh 2014, miss Banksia! I wanted to make something to donate to their charity auction, and when I had no better ideas, I decided to try sculpting her. She got a little too much sun, it seems!
I improvised a lot in order to make her look presentable; I used wood glue instead of superglue (I ran out), tried using a small paint container for her slush... Because of all this, I'm not very happy with how she turned out. Trial and error, I suppose. The only thing I like about her is her little black bikini.
She was made with Sculpey III/Kato Polyclay, painted with acrylics, and sealed with Modge Podge. Her little slush drink is a combination of resin and salt (not edible, sorry) and the sand is made of air dry clay. You can see more angles here.
Banksia will be available at the Sydneigh Charity Auction, and therefore is not for sale. My commissions are open, though!
